Brushing your hair extensions is as essential as brushing your teeth each morning. Use a soft bristle brush to de-tangle the hair without causing damage. Start at the bottom, de-tangling that area first before moving up to the top sections. Be gentle to avoid breakage and ensure long-lasting extensions.

Before shampooing, make sure to de-tangle your hair using a bristle brush. In the shower, tilt your hair back instead of flipping it over the sink or tub. Use a salon-quality, sulphate-free shampoo. Wet your extensions bit by bit to prevent tangling, using a downward motion when shampooing and rinse thoroughly.

Follow up with a nourishing leave-in conditioner, apply it using a downward motion and carefully brush out any remaining tangles. Avoid over-applying nourishing products, as this can make your extensions dull, limp, and prone to tangling.

Excessive heat is harmful to both natural hair and hair extensions. Allow your hair to dry naturally whenever possible. Avoid sleeping with semi-wet hair, as this can cause tangles and creases.

If you must blow-dry, use a low-heat setting. Dry your extensions and surrounding hair first, then style the rest of your hair as usual. Avoid using hot styling equipment that exceeds 200 degrees Celsius (392 degrees Fahrenheit).

When not in use, store your clip-ins, wigs or quick weaves properly. Clean, condition, dry and de-tangle them first, then place them in an air-tight container that accommodates them without squishing.

For sleep or intense physical activity, sweep your hair back into a ponytail. For sleeping, opt for a low ponytail to avoid tangles and creases. For exercise, choose a high ponytail to minimise exposure to sweat.

Adopt a cap-wearing habit, as chlorine and salt can damage your extensions. While not the most fashionable, a swimming cap will help prolong the life of your extensions.

Avoid harsh pulling, wringing, or tightly knotting your hair. These actions can damage both your extensions and your natural hair, causing breakage and affecting your hair's health after the extensions are removed.

Even the best quality extensions need upkeep. We recommend checking in with your stylist every 5 to 7 weeks for professional refitting and styling to maintain your extensions' quality and appearance.
